SoHo means cast-iron historic buildings, lofts, freight-elevator access, and Landmark District restrictions. We service appliance installs in SoHo regularly and know the buildings. Most SoHo lofts have Sub-Zero refrigerators and either Wolf ranges or Wolf wall-oven-plus-cooktop combos installed during the loft's renovation — we recognize the configurations.
Where we work in this area
SoHo covers:
- West SoHo (Sullivan, Thompson, MacDougal)
- Central SoHo (Greene, Mercer, Wooster — the cast-iron historic corridor)
- East SoHo (Crosby, Broadway)
Buildings and properties we know
Building types and specific addresses we know:
- Cast-iron loft buildings throughout the Historic District
- The Puck Building / 295 Lafayette
- 40 Mercer (post-2000s reconstruction)
- SoHo Mews
- Most lofts in the cast-iron buildings on Greene, Mercer, and Wooster
SoHo loft access often involves freight elevators only and strict contractor hours. We expect it and plan accordingly.

SoHo loft kitchens we know
SoHo lofts are a specific challenge: massive footprint, cast-iron historic building rules, and frequently kitchens designed by celebrity architects with unusual appliance configurations.
- Greene Street cast-iron lofts: Often have Sub-Zero 48" side-by-side built-ins in 12+ foot kitchens. Access is great; the challenge is freight-elevator-only with strict booking through the building's resident manager.
- 40 Mercer (post-2000s): Standard Sub-Zero + Wolf installations, white-glove building, COI through their portal.
- Puck Building (295 Lafayette): Unique loft kitchens with custom appliance configurations — we've seen everything from Wolf 60" ranges to wall-mounted Sub-Zero columns.
Common SoHo service patterns
Loft kitchens here often have appliances 15–20 years old (from the original loft conversion era). Repairs we see most often:
- Sub-Zero 600-series sealed-system maintenance on units from the late 1990s — refrigerant top-off and condenser deep-clean, depends on the specific model and failure mode
- Wolf AGM rangetop spark module failure — older units, parts still available, replacement.
- Sub-Zero 424 wine cooler temperature drift — common after 15 years, usually thermistor calibration plus minor refrigerant work.
Why NYC Sub-Zero & Wolf owners trust us
Every repair includes a 180-day labor warranty and a 1-year manufacturer warranty on every OEM Sub-Zero and Wolf part we install. Written and handed to you before we leave. If the same issue returns within that window, we come back at no labor charge.
- Licensed & fully insured. NYC general liability + workers comp. COI emailed to your building manager within 30 minutes of booking — additional-insured language included.
- OEM parts only. We never substitute aftermarket parts for the components that matter. The parts we install are the same parts Sub-Zero and Wolf would install themselves.
- Two-brand specialists. We don't service LG, Bosch, KitchenAid, or anything else. Every workweek is Sub-Zero refrigerators and Wolf ranges — we know the failure modes, the diagnostic shortcuts, and the access tricks.
- Same technician on return visits. When you call us back for a different issue, you usually get the same tech who already knows your building, your doorman, and your kitchen.
- 4.9★ across 5,000+ happy clients on Google Business Profile — verified NYC owners across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Westchester, and Bergen NJ.
- Flat $125 service call credited to repair. No diagnostic surprises, no after-hours surcharge for first-visit emergencies.
Frequently Asked Questions
How quickly can you get to SoHo?
Most calls in SoHo placed before 1 PM get same-day service. Building contractor hours (typically 9 AM – 4:30 PM in luxury buildings) can affect timing. Emergencies (no cooling, gas smell) we try to fit in regardless.
Do you carry the right COI for buildings here?
Yes. We carry general liability and workers comp policies that satisfy NYC luxury building requirements. We can send a COI to your building manager within 30 minutes of booking, with the additional-insured language they require.
Do you charge extra for higher floors or harder buildings?
No. The $125 service call covers all standard NYC luxury buildings, regardless of floor. We only charge extra if a job requires unusual access (rooftop, freight outside hours, etc.) and we always disclose that up front.
My building requires the freight elevator. Is that a problem?
Not at all. We expect freight-only access in most luxury buildings. Tell us your building when booking and we'll handle the freight reservation logistics through your management.
